This is the online home to all things Chris Marsden. The purpose is mainly communication and creative outlet. It is a place where I can let people know what is going on with me. Since this site is, ultimately, all about me and my opinions, you should know a little about who I am.
Family:
I have been married since June of 1998 and we have two little girls. Both of our parents live in the Tampa Bay area and we try and spend as much time as we can with them.
Ministry
The mission… to change the world.
Job:
I work full time at Garden Music Center in Winter Garden, FL. I am also a Husband and Father. For some added cashflow and sometimes just for fun, I do a little web design and various other creative projects.
Education:
I went to High School at the Center for Advanced Technologies in St. Pete, FL. I learned a lot of Math and Science which I hardly ever use any more. But I also learned a lot about Television Production, Computer Programming, and other techy type skills which have helped in my daily life, both for work and for play.
I graduated from Florida Christian College in 2002 with a degree in General Ministry, but I took quite a few classes at Valencia Community College as well. My classes there were primarily in Graphic Design and Computer/Network Maintenance. I never took my A+ or Net+ tests for certification since I wasn’t planning on pursuing IT professionally.
Computers:
In college, all of my Graphics courses were on Mac computers. I used a Windows computer. Now that I live in a mostly Windows world, I own a 12″ PowerBook. I have maintained that you need to use the right tool for the right job. It is not about which is better, but which is better for the application at hand. I love my Mac, but I have a Windows machine sitting on my desk for certain applications.
